The Freedom Irish (Freedom, WI) softball routed the host Appleton North Lightning (Appleton, WI), 11-3 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Irish (18-4) will now prepare for their bout against Luxemburg-Casco (Luxemburg, WI). The Spartans go into the North Eastern bout with a 17-1 record. In their last bout, Luxemburg-Casco toppled Algoma (Algoma, WI), 10-0, in a non-league bout.
The Lightning now possess a 5-12 record. They play next when they host Oshkosh North for a Fox Valley Association bout on Monday, May 6. Appleton North will confront a Spartans squad coming off a 5-2 league win over Appleton East (Appleton, WI). The Spartans record now stands at 8-7.
