In Saturday's non-league contest, the Thompson Tommies (Thompson, ND) softball team held off the host Central Cass Squirrels (Casselton, ND), by a margin of 1-0.

With the triumph, Thompson moves its record to 8-3 on the year. The Tommies host Langdon (Langdon, ND) to play the Cardinals in a Class B - Region 2 contest on Monday, May 6. The Cardinals come into the contest with a record of 0-0.

In their next game, the Squirrels play the Kindred/Richland Colts (Kindred, ND) in a Class B - Region 1 contest, on Tuesday, May 7. Central Cass will attempt to move on its 6-4 season record.
