Missisquoi Valley Thunderbirds (Swanton, VT) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Colchester Lakers (Colchester, VT), 4-1 in a league challenge.

The Thunderbirds now sport a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they host Champlain Valley Union for a Metro challenge on Thursday, May 9.

With the loss, Colchester falls to 4-1 on the campaign. The Lakers travel to St. Johnsbury Academy (St. Johnsbury, VT) to face the Hilltoppers in a Metro challenge on Tuesday, May 7. The Hilltoppers enter the challenge with a record of 4-1. St. Johnsbury Academy won 16-12 in their recent league challenge against Spaulding (Barre, VT)
