Holland Christian Maroons (Holland, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting West Ottawa Panthers (Holland, MI), 5-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Maroons now own a 5-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Spring Lake for a Ottawa-Kent - Blue challenge on Wednesday, May 8. Holland Christian will battle a Lakers squad coming off a 8-1 non-league loss to Northview (Grand Rapids, MI). The Lakers record now stands at 5-12.

With the loss, West Ottawa falls to 0-17 on the campaign. The Panthers host Grand Haven (Grand Haven, MI) to battle the Buccaneers in a Ottawa-Kent - Red challenge on Monday, May 6. The Buccaneers enter the challenge with a record of 12-3.
