West Essex Knights (North Caldwell, NJ) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Nutley Maroon Raiders (Nutley, NJ), 3-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Knights now sport a 5-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bloomfield for a SEC - Liberty challenge on Monday, May 6. West Essex will face a Bengals squad coming off a 5-0 non-league loss to Montclair (Montclair, NJ). The Bengals record now stands at 10-7.

With the loss, Nutley falls to 10-8 on the campaign. The Maroon raiders host Hoboken (Hoboken, NJ) to face the Redwings in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 7. The Redwings enter the challenge with a record of 8-8. Hoboken won 15-4 in their recent non-league challenge against St. Dominic Academy (Jersey City, NJ)
