Spectators at Saturday's non-league match between the Plainfield Panthers (Central Village, CT) and the host Putnam Clippers (Putnam, CT), witnessed Plainfield's softball squad tip Putnam by a count of 7-1.

The Panthers now sport a 7-7 record. They play next when they host Stonington for a non-league match on Monday, May 6. Plainfield will face a Bears squad coming off a 2-1 league loss to Killingly (Killingly, CT). The Bears record now stands at 11-3.

With the loss, Putnam moves to 6-11 on the season. The Clippers travel to Windham (Willimantic, CT) to face the Whippets in a non-league match on Wednesday, May 8. The Whippets go into the match with a record of 2-12. Windham lost 18-0 in their recent league match against Lyman Memorial (Lebanon, CT)
