The Newton South Lions baseball team scored 10 runs and limited the visiting Waltham Hawks to 0 in the Lions league victory on Thursday.

The Lions (8-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Westford Academy (Westford, MA). The Grey Ghosts come into the Dual County challenge with a 10-0 record. In their last challenge, Westford Academy beat Cambridge Rindge & Latin (Cambridge, MA), 8-4, in a league challenge.

With the defeat, Waltham falls to 4-5 on the season. The Hawks host Lincoln-Sudbury (Sudbury, MA) to encounter the Warriors in a Dual County challenge on Friday, May 6. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 6-4. Lincoln-Sudbury won 16-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Newton North (Newtonville, MA)
