Next, the Mountaineers face the Carroll County Cavaliers (Hillsville, VA) in a Three Rivers contest, on Monday, May 9. Alleghany will attempt to better on its 10-2 season record. The Cavaliers enter the contest with a 7-4 record after their 6-5 league win over James River (Buchanan, VA).

The Highlanders now have a 10-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Floyd County for a Three Rivers contest on Tuesday, May 10.
