Crystal Lake Central Tigers (Crystal Lake, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Crystal Lake South Gators (Crystal Lake, IL), 12-10 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 9-12 record. They take the field next when they host Central for a Fox Valley challenge on Monday, May 9. Crystal Lake Central will battle a Rockets squad coming off a 4-3 league win over Jacobs (Algonquin, IL). The Rockets record now stands at 10-5.

With the loss, Crystal Lake South falls to 6-14 on the campaign. The Gators host McHenry (McHenry, IL) to battle the Warriors in a Fox Valley challenge on Friday, May 6. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 13-5. McHenry lost 10-4 in their recent league challenge against Dundee-Crown (Carpentersville, IL)
