Matoaca Warriors (Chesterfield, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Dinwiddie Generals (Dinwiddie, VA), 8-7 in a league challenge.

The Warriors now own a 8-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Prince George for a Central challenge on Friday, May 6. Matoaca will face a Royals squad coming off a 13-3 league loss to Colonial Heights (Colonial Heights, VA). The Royals record now stands at 7-5.

With the loss, Dinwiddie falls to 10-4 on the campaign. The Generals host Hopewell (Hopewell, VA) to face the Blue Devils in a Central challenge on Tuesday, May 10. The Blue Devils enter the challenge with a record of 3-9. Hopewell won 28-11 in their recent league challenge against Petersburg (Petersburg, VA)
