Homer Mariners (Homer, AK) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Houston Hawks (Big Lake, AK), 21-1 in a league challenge.

The Mariners now own a 9-13 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Anchorage for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 6. Homer will battle a Wolverines squad coming off a 16-1 league win over West Anchorage (Anchorage, AK). The Wolverines record now stands at 5-0.

With the loss, Houston falls to 0-14 on the campaign. The Hawks host Kenai Central (Kenai, AK) to battle the Kardinals in a Northern Lights challenge on Friday, May 13. The Kardinals enter the challenge with a record of 3-9.
