The crowd at Thursday's league match between the Warrior Run Defenders (Turbotville, PA) and the host Hughesville Spartans (Hughesville, PA), saw Warrior Run's softball squad nip Hughesville by a count of 7-2.

The Defenders now sport a 3-7 record. They take the field next when they host Bloomsburg for a Heartland II match on Monday, May 9. Warrior Run will face a Panthers squad coming off a 9-4 league win over Lewisburg (Lewisburg, PA). The Panthers record now stands at 7-7.

With the loss, Hughesville falls to 2-8 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Loyalsock Township (Williamsport, PA) to face the Lancers in a Heartland II match on Tuesday, May 10. The Lancers enter the match with a record of 9-4.
