Spectators at Friday's league battle between the Scott Skyhawks (Madison, WV) and the host Mingo Central Miners (Matewan, WV), saw Scott's baseball squad knock off Mingo Central by a count of 19-5.

Coming up next, the Skyhawks play the Logan Wildcats (Logan, WV) in a Cardinal battle, on Tuesday, May 9. Scott will attempt to move on its 13-6 season record. The Wildcats enter the battle with a 12-7 record after their 8-2 league win over Wayne (Wayne, WV).

The Miners now possess a 6-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lincoln County for a non-league battle on Saturday, May 6. Mingo Central will play a Panthers squad coming off a 9-8 league loss to Buffalo (Buffalo, WV). The Panthers record now stands at 4-20.
