The crowd at Friday's non-league match between the West Point Pointers (West Point, VA) and the visiting Colonial Beach Drifters (Colonial Beach, VA), saw West Point's softball squad achieve victory over Colonial Beach by a count of 16-4.

The Pointers now sport a 8-7 record. They take the field next when they host Mathews for a Tidewater match on Tuesday, May 9. West Point will face a Blue Devils squad coming off a 20-0 league win over Charles City (Charles City, VA). The Blue Devils record now stands at 9-9.

With the loss, Colonial Beach falls to 5-7 on the campaign. The Drifters travel to Westmoreland (Montross, VA) to face the Eagles in a Northern Neck match on Monday, May 8. The Eagles enter the match with a record of 9-5. Westmoreland won 15-0 in their recent league match against Northumberland (Heathsville, VA)
