Craig County Rockets (New Castle, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Roanoke Valley Christian EAGLES (Roanoke, VA), 7-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Rockets now own a 7-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Parry McCluer for a Pioneer challenge on Monday, May 8. Craig County will battle a Fighting Blues squad coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to Nelson County (Lovingston, VA). The Fighting Blues record now stands at 9-6.

With the loss, Roanoke Valley Christian falls to 1-10 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Westover Christian Academy (Danville, VA) to battle the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 8. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 2-7. Westover Christian Academy lost 14-0 in their recent league challenge against United Christian Academy (Stanardsville, VA)
