Floyd County Buffaloes (Floyd, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Radford Bobcats (Radford, VA), 8-1 in a league challenge.

The Buffaloes now own a 6-8 record. They take the field next when they host Patrick Henry for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 8. Floyd County will battle a Patriots squad coming off a 17-5 league loss to Cave Spring (Roanoke, VA). The Patriots record now stands at 4-13.

With the loss, Radford falls to 4-9 on the campaign. The Bobcats travel to Alleghany (Covington, VA) to battle the Mountaineers in a Three Rivers challenge on Monday, May 8. The Mountaineers enter the challenge with a record of 8-5. Alleghany lost 13-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Rockbridge County (Lexington, VA)
