Poynette Pumas (Poynette, WI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Luther Prep Phoenix (Watertown, WI), 9-0 in a league challenge.
The Pumas now own a 12-1 record. They take the field next when they host Wilmot for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 6. Poynette will battle a Panthers squad coming off a 8-2 league loss to Burlington (Burlington, WI). The Panthers record now stands at 7-9.
With the loss, Luther Prep falls to 2-8 on the campaign. The Phoenix travel to Columbus (Columbus, WI) to battle the Cardinals in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 9. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a record of 5-5.
