Spotswood Trailblazers (Penn Laird, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Rockbridge County Wildcats (Lexington, VA), 8-2 in a league challenge.

The Trailblazers now own a 10-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Turner Ashby for a Valley challenge on Thursday, May 11. Spotswood will battle a Knights squad coming off a 13-3 league win over Harrisonburg (Harrisonburg, VA). The Knights record now stands at 17-0.

With the loss, Rockbridge County falls to 5-11 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to James River (Buchanan, VA) to battle the Knights in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 8. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 14-1. James River won 1-0 in their recent league challenge against Carroll County (Hillsville, VA)
