The New Hanover Wildcats edged the host West Brunswick Trojans soccer team by a tally of 2-1 in Monday's league game.

Next, the Wildcats face the Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A game, on Wednesday, May 7. New Hanover will attempt to advance on its 3-13 season record. The Vikings enter the game with a 18-1 record after their 4-2 league win over Topsail (Hampstead, NC).

The Trojans (5-14) will now prepare for their game against South Brunswick (Southport, NC). The Cougars enter the Mideastern 3A/4A game with a 6-11 record. In their last game, South Brunswick was nipped by Ashley (Wilmington, NC), 9-0, in a league game.
