The crowd at Monday's non-league bout between the Carbondale Terriers (Carbondale, IL) and the visiting Goreville Blackcats (Goreville, IL), observed Carbondale's softball team prevail over Goreville by a tally of 11-0.

The Terriers (7-8) will now prepare for their bout against Marion (Marion, IL). The Wildcats go into the South Seven bout with a 14-6 record. In their last bout, Marion was routed by Waterloo (Waterloo, IL), 2-1, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Blackcats clash with the Vienna Eagles (Vienna, IL) in a Black Diamond West bout, on Tuesday, May 6. Goreville will attempt to advance on its 7-13 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 8-13 record after their 5-4 league win over Zeigler-Royalton (Zeigler, IL).
