Chatham Cavaliers (Chatham, VA) backers left the game pleased Monday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA), 7-2 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Chatham upgrades its record to 7-7 on the year. The Cavaliers host William Campbell (Naruna, VA) to play the Generals in a Dogwood game on Friday, May 9. The Generals enter the game with a record of 4-7. William Campbell won 6-0 in their recent league game against Nelson County (Lovingston, VA)

The Comets now own a 12-5 record. They play next when they host George Washington for a Piedmont game on Tuesday, May 6. Halifax County will play a Eagles squad coming off a 17-1 league win over Martinsville (Martinsville, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 1-6.
