The crowd at Monday's non-league bout between the Katahdin Cougars (Sherman Station, ME) and the host Washburn Beavers (Washburn, ME), observed Katahdin's softball team prevail over Washburn by a tally of 17-0.

The Cougars (2-0) will now prepare for their bout against Madawaska (Madawaska, ME). The Owls go into the Class D North bout with a 0-2 record. In their last bout, Madawaska was routed by Central Aroostook (Mars Hill, ME), 15-0, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Beavers clash with the Southern Aroostook Warriors (Dyer Brook, ME) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, May 7. Washburn will attempt to advance on its 1-3 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 3-1 record after their 17-2 league win over Fort Fairfield (Fort Fairfield, ME).
