In Monday's league match, the host LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers softball team scored a tight 3-1 win over the Sycamore Spartans.
The Cavaliers (24-3) will now prepare for their match against Ottawa (Ottawa, IL). The Pirates come into the Interstate Eight match with a 14-7 record. In their last match, Ottawa nipped Morris (Morris, IL), 2-1, in a league match.
In their next game, the Spartans confront the Kaneland Knights (Maple Park, IL) in a Interstate Eight match, on Wednesday, May 7. Sycamore will attempt to better on its 20-3 season record. The Knights come into the match with a 13-10 record after their 16-4 non-league win over Oswego East (Oswego, IL).
