The crowd at Monday's league bout between the Washington Panthers (Washington, IL) and the host Metamora Redbirds (Metamora, IL), observed Washington's softball team get by Metamora by a tally of 3-2.

The Panthers (18-2) will now prepare for their bout against Pekin (Pekin, IL). The Dragons go into the Mid-Illini bout with a 9-9 record. In their last bout, Pekin was nipped by Dunlap (Dunlap, IL), 6-1, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Redbirds battle the Morton Potters (Morton, IL) in a Mid-Illini bout, on Tuesday, May 6. Metamora will attempt to advance on its 18-6 season record. The Potters go into the test with a 5-16 record after their 10-4 non-league loss to Peoria Notre Dame (Peoria, IL).
