The crowd at Monday's league bout between the St. Francis Spartans (Wheaton, IL) and the visiting Saint Ignatius College Prep Wolfpack (Chicago, IL), observed St. Francis's softball team get by Saint Ignatius College Prep by a tally of 4-1.

The Spartans (17-4) will now prepare for their bout against Somonauk (Somonauk, IL). The Bobcats go into the non-league test with a 7-10 record. In their last test, Somonauk was routed by Serena (Serena, IL), 14-2, in a league outing.

With the loss, Saint Ignatius College Prep moves to 10-14 on the season. The Wolfpack travel to IC Catholic Prep (Elmhurst, IL) to encounter the Knights in a GCAC-White outing on Wednesday, May 7. The Knights come into the outing with a record of 14-10. IC Catholic Prep lost 12-4 in their recent league outing against Aurora Central Catholic (Aurora, IL)
