The Winthrop Vikings baseball squad (Winthrop, MA), was overwhelmed 17-8 in Tuesday's non-league contest with the visiting Salem Witches (Salem, MA)

With the triumph, Salem moves its record to 1-0 on the season. The Witches host Amesbury (Amesbury, MA) to confront the Redhawks in a non-league contest on Friday, May 8. The Redhawks come into the contest with a record of 1-4.

The Vikings now possess a 2-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to East Boston for a non-league contest on Thursday, May 7. Winthrop will confront a Jets squad coming off a 15-11 non-league loss to O'Bryant (Roxbury, MA). The Jets record now stands at 0-3.
