Las Plumas Thunderbirds (Oroville, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Wheatland Pirates (Wheatland, CA), 1-0 in a league challenge.

The Thunderbirds now own a 7-9 record.

With the loss, Wheatland falls to 1-10 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Sutter (Sutter, CA) to battle the Huskies in a challenge on Tuesday, May 10. The Huskies enter the challenge with a record of 23-0. Sutter won 13-3 in their recent league challenge against Corning (Corning, CA)
