In Friday's league contest, the Somers Spartans (Somers, CT) softball squad got by the visiting Coventry Patriots (Coventry, CT), by a count of 5-4.
The Spartans now sport a 11-4 record. They play next when they travel to East Granby for a North Central Connecticut match on Monday, May 9. Somers will face a Crusaders squad coming off a 16-1 league loss to Bolton (Bolton, CT). The Crusaders record now stands at 3-8.
With the loss, Coventry moves to 11-3 on the season. The Patriots host Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy (Hartford, CT) to face the Phoenix in a North Central Connecticut match on Monday, May 9. The Phoenix go into the match with a record of 1-10.
