Downers Grove South Mustangs (Downers Grove, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Proviso East Pirates (Maywood, IL), 21-0 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 10-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Addison Trail for a West Suburban - Gold challenge on Monday, May 9. Downers Grove South will battle a Blazers squad coming off a 15-1 league win over Leyden (Franklin Park, IL). The Blazers record now stands at 15-3.

With the loss, Proviso East falls to 1-8 on the campaign. The Pirates host Hinsdale South (Darien, IL) to battle the Hornets in a West Suburban - Gold challenge on Monday, May 9. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 8-8. Hinsdale South won 5-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Glenbard East (Lombard, IL)
