Westmont Warriors (Campbell, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Leigh Longhorns (San Jose, CA), 7-3 in a league challenge.

The Warriors now sport a 16-8 record. They take the field next when they host Los Altos for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 10. Westmont will face a Eagles squad coming off a 12-1 league win over Fremont (Sunnyvale, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 12-10.

With the loss, Leigh falls to 4-20 on the campaign. The Longhorns host Live Oak (Morgan Hill, CA) to face the Acorns in a Mount Hamilton challenge on Wednesday, May 11. The Acorns enter the challenge with a record of 11-12. Live Oak won 5-1 in their recent league challenge against Silver Creek (San Jose, CA)
