Broadway Gobblers (Broadway, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Fluvanna County Flying Flucos (Palmyra, VA), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Gobblers now own a 14-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Harrisonburg for a Valley challenge on Tuesday, May 9. Broadway will battle a Blue Streaks squad coming off a 13-3 league loss to Turner Ashby (Bridgewater, VA). The Blue Streaks record now stands at 4-11.

With the loss, Fluvanna County falls to 3-12 on the campaign. The Flying flucos host Orange County (Orange, VA) to battle the Fighting Hornets in a Jefferson challenge on Tuesday, May 9. The Fighting Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 11-4. Orange County lost 1-0 in their recent league challenge against Louisa County (Mineral, VA)
