Canastota Red Raiders (Canastota, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Adirondack Wildcats (Boonville, NY), 8-7 in a league challenge.

The Red Raiders now own a 6-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Herkimer for a Section 3 Center State I challenge on Tuesday, May 7. Canastota will battle a Magicians squad coming off a 25-5 league win over Clinton (Clinton, NY). The Magicians record now stands at 9-3.

With the loss, Adirondack falls to 3-9 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Sherburne-Earlville (Sherburne, NY) to battle the Marauders in a Section 3 Center State I challenge on Wednesday, May 8. The Marauders enter the challenge with a record of 7-1. Sherburne-Earlville won 4-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Sauquoit Valley (Sauquoit, NY)
