Ashland Hornets (Ashland, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Fort Fairfield Tigers (Fort Fairfield, ME), 21-9 in a league challenge.
The Hornets now own a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they host Madawaska for a Class D North challenge on Tuesday, May 7. Ashland will face a Owls squad coming off a 17-0 league loss to Katahdin (Sherman Station, ME). The Owls record now stands at 0-4.
With the loss, Fort Fairfield falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Tigers host Katahdin (Sherman Station, ME) to face the Cougars in a Class D North challenge on Wednesday, May 8. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 4-0. Katahdin won 4-2 in their recent league challenge against Southern Aroostook (Dyer Brook, ME)
