Calais Blue Devils (Calais, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Jonesport-Beals Royals (Jonesport, ME), 4-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Blue Devils now own a 2-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mattanawcook for a Class C North challenge on Wednesday, May 8. Calais will face a Lynx squad coming off a 9-8 league loss to Foxcroft Academy (Dover-Foxcroft, ME). The Lynx record now stands at 3-4.

With the loss, Jonesport-Beals falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Royals host Searsport (Searsport, ME) to face the Vikings in a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 9. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 2-5. Searsport lost 17-0 in their recent league challenge against Penobscot Valley (Howland, ME)
