Cranford Cougars (Cranford, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Johnson Crusaders (Clark, NJ), 6-3 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 9-9 record. They take the field next when they host Union for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 7. Cranford will battle a Farmers squad coming off a 11-7 league loss to Brearley (Kenilworth, NJ). The Farmers record now stands at 2-13.

With the loss, Johnson falls to 12-9 on the campaign. The Crusaders host Summit (Summit, NJ) to battle the Hilltoppers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 7. The Hilltoppers enter the challenge with a record of 9-9. Summit won 12-2 in their recent league challenge against Union Catholic (Scotch Plains, NJ)
