North East Grape Pickers (North East, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting General McLane Lancers (Edinboro, PA), 14-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Grape Pickers now own a 8-8 record. They take the field next when they host Northwestern for a District 10 Region 3 challenge on Tuesday, May 7. North East will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 11-0 league loss to Harbor Creek (Harborcreek, PA). The Wildcats record now stands at 9-6.

With the loss, General McLane falls to 3-11 on the campaign. The Lancers host McDowell (Erie, PA) to battle the Trojans in a District 10 Region 5 challenge on Tuesday, May 7. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 7-8. McDowell lost 4-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Hickory (Hermitage, PA)
