The Maize South Mavericks baseball team scored 5 runs and held the host Kapaun Mt. Carmel Crusaders to 4 in the Mavericks non-league win on Tuesday.

The Mavericks now own a 14-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Derby for a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division I test on Friday, May 9. Maize South will clash with a Panthers team coming off a 5-2 non-league win over Bishop Carroll (Wichita, KS). The Panthers record now stands at 5-15.

With the defeat, Kapaun Mt. Carmel drops to 10-10 on the year. The Crusaders host Pittsburg (Pittsburg, KS) to clash with the Dragons in a non-league test on Friday, May 9. The Dragons go into the test with a record of 7-6. Pittsburg won 16-3 in their recent league test against Independence (Independence, KS)
