With the triumph, Mankato East moves its record to 9-4 on the season. The Cougars host Marshall (Marshall, MN) to confront the Tigers in a non-league contest on Saturday, May 10. The Tigers come into the contest with a record of 9-3.

The Spartans (8-5) will now prepare for their bout against Century (Rochester, MN). The Panthers enter the Big 9 bout with a 7-6 record. In their last bout, Century was overwhelmed by Owatonna (Owatonna, MN), 8-5, in a league bout.
