Central Golden Eagles (Springfield, MA) supporters left the game thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad topple the visiting Holyoke Purple Knights (Holyoke, MA), 16-4 in a league game.

With the triumph, Central improves its record to 7-0 on the year. The Golden Eagles host West Springfield (West Springfield, MA) to play the Terriers in a non-league game on Wednesday, May 7. The Terriers enter the game with a record of 3-5.

The Purple Knights now hold a 4-8 record. They play next when they travel to Palmer for a PVIAC - Bi County game on Thursday, May 8. Holyoke will play a Panthers squad coming off a 18-13 non-league win over Quaboag Regional (Warren, MA). The Panthers record now stands at 5-7.
