In Wednesday's non-league game, the host Northside Vikings baseball team scored a close 10-9 win over the Salem Spartans.

The Vikings (9-8) will now prepare for their game against Fleming (Roanoke, VA). The Colonels go into the Blue Ridge game with a 1-13 record. In their last game, Fleming was tipped by William Byrd (Vinton, VA), 18-2, in a league game.

Next, the Spartans play the Christiansburg Blue Demons (Christiansburg, VA) in a River Ridge game, on Friday, May 8. Salem will attempt to improve on its 9-7 season record. The Blue Demons go into the game with a 11-6 record after their 4-3 league loss to Cave Spring (Roanoke, VA).
