Eagle River Wolves (Eagle River, AK) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Homer Mariners (Homer, AK), 6-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Wolves now own a 9-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Chugiak for a Cook Inlet challenge on Monday, May 9. Eagle River will battle a Mustangs squad coming off a 5-2 non-league loss to South Anchorage (Anchorage, AK). The Mustangs record now stands at 9-3.

With the loss, Homer falls to 9-17 on the campaign. The Mariners travel to Soldotna (Soldotna, AK) to battle the Stars in a Northern Lights challenge on Tuesday, May 10. The Stars enter the challenge with a record of 5-5. Soldotna won 19-3 in their recent league challenge against Kenai Central (Kenai, AK)
