In Saturday's non-league contest, the Meridian Hawks (Macon, IL) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Salt Fork Storm (Sidell, IL), by a margin of 19-2.
With the triumph, Meridian moves its record to 19-4 on the year. The Hawks travel to St. Joseph-Ogden (St. Joseph, IL) to play the Spartans in a non-league contest on Saturday, May 7. The Spartans come into the contest with a record of 19-8. St. Joseph-Ogden won 3-2 in their recent non-league contest against Argenta-Oreana (Argenta, IL)
In their next game, the Storm play the Iroquois West Raiders (Gilman, IL) in a Vermilion Valley contest, on Monday, May 9. Salt Fork will attempt to move on its 9-12 season record. The Raiders come into the contest with a 3-10 record after their 11-1 league loss to Milford (Milford, IL).
