Mississippi High School Softball - Sumrall holds off Newton County

Spectators at Saturday's non-league match between the Sumrall Bobcats (Sumrall, MS) and the visiting Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS), witnessed Sumrall's softball squad tip Newton County by a count of 3-1.

The Bobcats now sport a 25-7 record. They play next when they travel to North Pike for a non-league match on Friday, May 13. Sumrall will face a Jaguars squad coming off a 5-0 non-league win over Purvis (Purvis, MS). The Jaguars record now stands at 13-10.

With the loss, Newton County moves to 2-7 on the season.
