Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Pass Christian Pirates (Pass Christian, MS), 8-3 in a non-league test.
With the win, Newton County upgrades its record to 19-12 on the season. The Cougars travel to Sumrall (Sumrall, MS) to battle the Bobcats in a non-league test on Tuesday, May 9. The Bobcats come into the test with a record of 25-5. Sumrall won 10-6 in their recent non-league test against Greene County (Leakesville, MS)
With the defeat, Pass Christian falls to 9-7 on the season.
