Salem Spartans (Salem, VA) fans were thrilled Tuesday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Patrick Henry Patriots (Roanoke, VA), 4-3 in a league challenge.

Next, the Spartans confront the Pulaski County Cougars (Dublin, VA) in a River Ridge challenge, on Friday, May 10. Salem will attempt to better on its 8-7 season record. The Cougars enter the challenge with a 0-15 record after their 7-1 league loss to Christiansburg (Christiansburg, VA).

The Patriots now have a 8-4 record.
