Tuscola Mountaineers (Waynesville, NC) fans were pleased Tuesday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC), 1-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Mountaineers confront the West Henderson Falcons (Hendersonville, NC) in a Mountain Seven 3A challenge, on Wednesday, May 8. Tuscola will attempt to better on its 9-4 season record. The Falcons enter the challenge with a 18-1 record after their 9-0 league win over Franklin (Franklin, NC).

The Mustangs now have a 7-11 record. They take the field next when they host East Henderson for a Mountain Seven 3A challenge on Thursday, May 9. Smoky Mountain will confront a Eagles team coming off a 1-0 league win over Pisgah (Canton, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 3-10.
