Dayton Bulldogs (Springfield, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Brearley Bears (Kenilworth, NJ), 16-11 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 14-6 record. They take the field next when they host Verona for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 9. Dayton will battle a Hillbillies squad coming off a 5-1 non-league loss to Livingston (Livingston, NJ). The Hillbillies record now stands at 10-7.

With the loss, Brearley falls to 10-9 on the campaign. The Bears host Union Catholic (Scotch Plains, NJ) to battle the Vikings in a UCC - Mountain challenge on Saturday, May 11. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 7-11.
