Spectators at Tuesday's league match between the Steele Canyon Cougars (Spring Valley, CA) and the visiting Helix Highlanders (La Mesa, CA), witnessed Steele Canyon's softball squad tip Helix by a count of 8-2.

The Cougars now sport a 16-6 record. They play next when they host Grossmont for a non-league match on Wednesday, May 8. Steele Canyon will face a Foothillers squad coming off a 11-0 league win over El Cajon Valley (El Cajon, CA). The Foothillers record now stands at 10-10.

With the loss, Helix moves to 8-16 on the season. The Highlanders host Santana (Santee, CA) to face the Sultans in a Grossmont Hills match on Thursday, May 9. The Sultans go into the match with a record of 10-15. Santana lost 5-4 in their recent league match against Granite Hills (El Cajon, CA)
