The Nantucket Whalers baseball team scored 8 runs and held the visiting Sturgis West Navigators to 2 in the Whalers league win on Wednesday.

The Whalers now hold a 5-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mashpee for a non-league test on Thursday, May 8. Nantucket will play a Falcons team coming off a 2-0 league win over Rockland (Rockland, MA). The Falcons record now stands at 6-6.

With the defeat, Sturgis West drops to 0-6 on the year. The Navigators host Monomoy (Harwich, MA) to play the Sharks in a Cape & Islands test on Friday, May 9. The Sharks go into the test with a record of 7-5. Monomoy lost 5-1 in their recent league test against St. John Paul II (Hyannis, MA)
