Fans at Wednesday's league battle between the Southampton Indians (Courtland, VA) and the host Surry County Cougars (Dendron, VA), saw Southampton's soccer squad triumph over Surry County by a count of 7-1.

The Indians (10-2) will now prepare for their battle against Greensville County (Emporia, VA). The Eagles enter the Tri-Rivers battle with a 5-3 record. In their last battle, Greensville County tipped Franklin (Franklin, VA), 6-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Cougars battle the Arcadia Firebirds (Oak Hall, VA) in a non-league battle, on Friday, May 9. Surry County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-9 season record. The Firebirds enter the battle with a 4-7 record after their 1-0 league win over Chincoteague (Chincoteague, VA).
